Batticaloa cattle form issues – TNA protest rocks the House

A protest by Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MPs brought Parliament sessions to a halt for a short time today.

TNA MPs dashed into the well of the House with placards alleging that the lands used by people in Batticaloa to rear cattle have been grabbed by a group of outsiders.

The group of MPs who were led by Shanakiyan Rasamanikam were heard shouting “Adkkade, Adikkade, engal nilaththei engalukku kodu! (Stop attacking us, stop attacking us, return our lands to us) in Tamil.

SJB MP V. Radhakrishnan also joined the protest.

They stopped the protest when Leader of the House Susil Premajayantha announced that President Ranil Wickremesinghe who was to visit Batticaloa will resolve the matter.
