A chief bhikku(Buddhist monk) of Vihara has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a boy who was staying and studying at Punnaikuda Vihara in Batticaloa- Eravur police division of Eastern Province.
An 11-year-old boy from another district had come to Vihara to study with the aim of being a Buddhist monk.
