847 explosions, 7 people killed in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has reported 847 incidents related to gas cylinder explosion during the period up to December 19 this year. 7 were killed and 16 were injured, Sri Lankan police said.

According to the sources, 477 incidents were reported due to gas stove explosions while 299 incidents of gas leaks and 52 cases of damages to gas pipe were reported.

This information is based on the information available to the police. A further 18 incidents of property damage were reported by the police.
