38 years on: Tamil homeland commemorates ‘Black July’, demands justice

To remember Black July, an anti-Tamil pogrom, commemoration and protest events have been held around the occupied Tamil homeland- North and Eastern Province of Sri Lanka.

The events were held at Jaffna Municipal Council, Jaffna, Vavuniya.

A vigil was held in front of the Jaffna Central Bus Stand has demanding justice for Sri Lanka’s genocide against Eelam Tamils.

The protestors have raised the protest slogans to release the political prisoners, justice for ethnic cleansing, demilitarization, and whereabouts of missing persons.
