Tehran – Iran has claimed that it destroyed 11 U.S. military aircraft during the recent conflict with the United States, according to statements by an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson carried by Iran’s state-affiliated Tasnim News Agency.
The IRGC spokesperson said the aircraft were destroyed during a 15-day period from 6 to 22 July, alleging that Iranian attacks struck U.S. military assets stationed at bases across the region.
According to the Iranian claims, the losses included:
- 17 drones, including eight described as newly deployed.
- One F-15 fighter aircraft allegedly destroyed inside a hangar.
- One P-8 maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft.
- One C-17 military transport aircraft.
- Eight aerial refuelling aircraft.
The claims have not been independently verified.
At the time of publication, there has been no public confirmation from the U.S. military that it suffered the aircraft losses described by Iran. Previous battlefield claims made by both sides during the conflict have often been disputed, and independent verification remains difficult.
Military analysts caution that claims made during active or recently concluded conflicts should be treated with care until supported by independent evidence, satellite imagery, or official confirmation from the parties involved.
