Thousands of Tamils in northern and eastern Sri Lanka have commemorated their relatives who died during the country’s civil war.
The main ceremonies were held on Sunday (27), Maaveerar Naal (Great Heroes’ Day), as Tamils remembered members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) who died in the battle.
