Mullaithivu incident explains how Tamil Eelam Govt. saved people in a difficult time

European Union members are buying more fuel from Russia and storing it to save their people from the fuel crisis for the coming winter. But Russia knows these tactics and is trying to limit fuel supply through Nord Stream one supply line.

In the meantime, Sri Lankan new premier Ranil Wickremesinghe said that ‘things will get worse before they get better’ given the current crisis in the country.

But this week, a farmer from Udayarkattu, Mullaithivu was engaged in clearing one of his abandoned lands to cultivate crops to avoid food crisis. While at clean, he found a couple of barrels buried underground.

He notified the Police through the Village officer. A team led by the Mullaitivu Magistrate visited the scene to inspect the excavation of the barrels. The seven barrels recovered from the land contained 715 litres of kerosene which was believed to have been buried by the Tamil Eelam government during the conflict.

Local people said that the discovery of large quantity of kerosene during a period of fuel shortage was like a gift from god.
